From New York City (6 hours)
Options:

Take the Major Deegan (87) to exit 16- Harriman, NY. This is route 17/I-86 west (toward Binghamton) to exit 33 at Almond. Follow signs for the University to Route 21 south, and then to Route 244 into Alfred.

or...

Take the George Washington Bridge (upper level) to the Palisades Parkway North. Get off at ext 9W which is the NYS Thruway (I-87). Get off at exit 16- Harriman. This is route 17/I-86.

or...

Through New Jersey and PA, take the Holland or the Lincoln tunnel to the New Jersey Turnpike. Follow signs to Interstate 80. Take 80 west to 380, to 81 north into Binghamton. Then take 17/I-86 west to AU.

From Rochester (1 1/2 hours from campus)

Take I-390 south to exit 4, the second Dansville exit. Turn right onto Route 36 south and continue through Arkport. Take Route I-86 west to exit 33, and follow "From New York City" directions.

From Buffalo (2 hours from campus)

Take I-90 west, the New York State Thruway, to exit 54, Route 400 south (which becomes Route 16 to Route 39 east and then to Route 98 south). Take Route 98 to Route 243, and 243 to Route 19 south. At Belmont, turn left onto Route 244 east to Alfred.

From the Northeast

Take the New York State Thruway (I-90) to exit 42 at Geneva. Take Route 14 south, near Dresden, take a right onto Route 54 through Penn Yan to Bath and I-86 west. Take I-86 to exit 33 and follow "From New York City" directions.

From the South

Take Route 15 north to Corning, NY, or take Route 87 north to Binghamton, NY. Follow I-86 west to exit 33 at Almond. Follow signs for the University to Route 21 south and to Route 244 in Alfred.
